Mark began his career in 1983 working for a local CPA firm. In 1991, he opened his own tax and financial consulting practice. In 2004, he changed the name of his firm to Briggs Wealth Management, Inc. to better reflect the breadth of services. Mark's knowledge and expertise has been quoted in many publications such as the Journal of Financial Planning, the Boston Globe, the Hartford Courant, as well as Kiplinger's Personal Finance.
Mark has earned the designations of CPA (Certified Public Accountant), CFP® (Certified Financial Planner), and PFS (Personal Financial Specialist). He holds professional memberships with the following organizations:
- NAPFA - National Association of Personal Financial Advisors.
- FPA - Financial Planning Association.
- AICPA - American Institute of CPAs.
- CSCPA - Connecticut Society of CPAs; Personal Financial Committee (Past Chair)
Mark received a B.S. degree in Accounting from the University of Rhode Island in 1982. An avid cyclist and tennis player, he currently resides in Glastonbury, CT with his wife and two children.
